How and When to Contact SHWI

SHWI is interested in hearing from:

  • Stakeholders working on issues relating to sexual harassment in the workplace. Previously, SHWI has presented at conferences and events organized by stakeholder groups as well as private and public sector employers. If your organization is interested in having SHWI give an outreach presentation, please get in touch by e-mailing us at SH.Initiative@usdoj.gov.
  • Anyone who believes that a state or local government employer has engaged in a pattern or practice of sexual harassment. To reach the EEOC, visit their website or call the EEOC at 1-800-669-4000, 1-800-669-6820 (TTY for Deaf/Hard of Hearing callers only), 1-844-234-5122 (ASL Video Phone for Deaf/Hard of Hearing callers only). Please also let ELS know that you have filed a charge by contacting us through the Civil Rights Portal. Note that contacting ELS is not the same as filing a charge with the EEOC, and that there are strict time limits to file a charge to protect your rights.
  • Attorneys working on Title VII cases against state or local government employers. If you have filed a Title VII lawsuit or an EEOC Charge for a client who has experienced sexual harassment, please reach out to us at SH.Initiative@usdoj.gov.
