On May 18, 2006, Marty J. Jackley was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the Senate on July 21, 2006, as United States Attorney for the District of South Dakota. He acts as South Dakota’s chief federal criminal prosecutor and represents the United States in civil cases where the government is a party to the lawsuit. Marty serves on both the US Attorney General's Advisory Counsel for Controlled Substance Subcommittee and Native American Subcommittee. |
